CBRB – A Review

One of my true loves of adult life has to be ramen. Ever since my first bowl at Shoryu a few years ago, I have been obsessed. Luckily for me, Manchester now has two new ramen bars & I went to try out CBR ramen as quickly as I could!

CBR offer ramen, Bao buns & cocktails (heaven!) & they are located on Oldham Street surrounded by some of the best foodie spots in the Northern Quarter. (Eat NY – Fress)

Since my boyfriend became vegetarian last year, I did worry that our foodie adventure together was over. For a while it was really hard trying to find places that actually cater for our tastes. Thankfully Japanese food, specifically ramen restaurants, have tasty vegetarian options & amazing real Tonkotsu for me!

We decided to get a small ramen bowl and a bun each, as they offer an amazing deal of both for £10! We both had an artichoke & xxxx bun each followed by delicious ramen. I opted for the classic tonkotsu ramen & my boyfriend had a miso / mushroom ramen.

I can safely say that the Ramen at CBR is just as good as I hoped it would be! They’re mini bowls are perfect if you want a light lunch & a great meal when paired with a bao bun.

Ramen, for anyone who hasn’t tried it, is a bone broth with noodles, meat (usually pork) & soft boiled egg. The extra toppings vary from dish to dish, but they can also include spring onions, crispy onions, sesame seeds, pickled ginger, anchovies and seaweed.

It has become my favourite food to eat when it’s cold outside, I’m feeling sad or any day of the week! If you haven’t yet tried it, please try it out for yourself. CBR ramen is definitely the place I’d recommend for you to visit! Make this top of your lists of things to do.
